July: Unveiling Your Ideal Audience

July: Unveiling Your Ideal Audience Get ready to truly understand who you're talking to! We'll guide you through doing a audience audit to identify your ideal customer's unique point of view, their challenges, and their aspirations. We do this so we can be really clear in how we craft our content so it speaks directly to who intended for.

Audience Audit: Identifying Your Dream Customer

Understanding your dream customer is the first step to creating content that truly connects.

Why We Do This: Knowing your audience helps you create relevant, engaging content that attracts and retains the right followers. It’s also SUPER helpful in guiding us when we’re struggling to think about what kind of content we need to be creating and almost gives us a map of what to say to who. If you know your target persona’s pain points you can talk directly to them. If you have emotional content which resonated with this audience they are more likely to listen - creating connect that connects is the opposite to just screaming out loud ‘THIS IS WHAT WE DO’ - when we reframe the message to connect emotionally we also build loyalty because you show your customer that you get it!

Prompts:

  1. Demographics: Create a profile including age, gender, occupation, and location. Think about who would benefit most from your products or services.

  2. Interests: List out hobbies, favorite brands, and media consumed by your ideal customer. What are they passionate about?

  3. Behavior: Identify social media habits, including platforms used and content types they engage with (videos, blogs, memes, etc.).

Helpful Tips:

  • Use social media analytics to gather data about your current followers.

  • Conduct surveys or polls to gather insights directly from your audience, it’s as easy as sharing a story or creating a post on your chosen platform. People appreciate you asking them directly what they actually want opposed to you just guessing.

  • Research, research, research - is your target audience to be a mum? Jump on some local Facebook Groups, research things people have asked, reach out to a local mums and bubs group and ask if you can come along to ask some questions.

Understanding Their Point of View (Needs & Challenges)

To resonate with your audience, you need to understand their needs and challenges.

Why We Do Dis? Addressing your audience’s pain points positions your brand as a valuable resource and builds trust, if they feel like you get them they are going to stick around!

Prompts:

  1. Pain Points: Identify common problems or frustrations your audience faces. What issues are they trying to solve?

  2. Needs: Determine what your audience needs to overcome these challenges. How can your business provide solutions or build trust?

  3. Challenges: Acknowledge any barriers your audience faces when trying to achieve their goals.

Helpful Tips:

  • Use customer feedback and reviews to identify recurring themes.

  • Ask your people! Do a poll on your stories! Ask on a post. Straight from the horse's mouth!

  • Monitor discussions in online communities and forums related to your industry.

  • Analyze competitor content to see how they address similar needs and challenges.

Aspirations & Values

Align your content with your audience's aspirations and values to create deeper connections.

Why We Do Dis? Connecting on an emotional level with your audience can foster loyalty and long-term engagement.

Prompts:

  1. Aspirations: What are your audience’s dreams and long-term goals? How can your brand help them achieve these?

  2. Values: What core values are important to your audience? How do these influence their decisions and behavior? How does your business align with this?

  3. Lifestyle: Consider how your audience's lifestyle choices reflect their values and aspirations.

Helpful Tips:

  • Share inspirational stories or testimonials that align with your audience’s values.

  • Create content that showcases how your brand supports their aspirations.

  • Use visuals and messaging that reflect the lifestyle and values of your audience.

Crafting Your Voice

Your brand voice should be authentic and resonate with your audience.

Why We Do Dis: A consistent and relatable brand voice strengthens your identity and helps build a loyal following.

Prompts:

  1. Tone: Decide whether your brand voice is casual, formal, humorous, etc. What tone resonates best with your audience? Don’t worry about perfect - people resonate with real humans doing real life!

  2. Consistency: Ensure your voice remains consistent across all platforms and content types.

  3. Engagement: Use your brand voice to interact with your audience. How can you make your interactions more personable and engaging?

Helpful Tips:

  • Develop a brand voice guide that outlines key elements like tone, vocabulary, and style.

  • Encourage team members to follow this guide to maintain consistency.

  • Regularly review and refine your voice based on audience feedback and engagement metrics.

Bonus Tip: Leverage Analytics & Research

Use social media analytics to track your progress, when you start this process take a screenshot of all the things and keep it in a safe space - we use Milanote. Look at engagement rates, follower growth, and feedback to see what’s working and what needs tweaking. Adjust your strategy based on these insights to keep improving.
